Meet billy hartley

Billy Hartley, DHPR’s Indigenous business development lead, has rejoined our company in May 2021 after working with us as a former Indigenous and community liaison in 2019. He studied business administration in university and has chosen to work with DHPR because “there is no greater feeling than being a positive difference in someone’s life or community.” That is what he takes tremendous pride in.

His role with DHPR involves making and establishing connections with Canadian companies and communities while growing our business’s presence in other markets and around the world. He bridges gaps between corporate and community needs so that all parties are aligned with strategies and/or implementation of plans to move forward in a timely and organized fashion. He supports our clients’ efforts in community partnerships and relationships between client and community.

What thrills him most about his role is the ability to connect clients with Indigenous communities through education and leadership.

Billy has traveled to many places in Canada throughout his lifetime. He was born in Kelowna, BC and has relocated and lived in the Halifax area for most of his childhood. When he grew up, he lived in Sydney, Yarmouth, and Calgary while playing hockey.

When Billy is out of the office, he is found engaging in physical activity, namely hockey, baseball, and playing golf.
